It’s time for a Lifestyle Change in Rockland County

Plenty of Rocklanders have their goals set for staying fit, healthy and losing weight for 2013.  I think that is a very great New Years’ Resolution.  I always believed our health is our best investment.  One of the things that I made an effort to do more is drinking more water and to just keep on moving.

My Principle #: Just keep on moving.

Movement within the body enables a person to achieve a sense of metabolism it helps with the peristalsis within the gastrointestinal systems and it helps with the blood circulation and the boosting of the immune system of the body which enables us to fight diseases and infection.  Moving your fingers on the keyboard and scrolling the mouse do not count as MOVEMENT there buddy.  I’m talking about full range of motion in the upper and lower extremities, obviously walking or jogging around Rockland Lake is the best exercise.   So, here is my equation: MOVEMENT + FUN = PLAY.

So do something fun, what is your hobby or passion?  Try to incorporate movement towards your hobby.  You like to go fishing ? try putting effort in using much range of motion as much as possible when “casting your line and reeling your fish” (unless you suck at fishing, then just stick with casting jk ; ).  And if you like to play sports, then go play your hearts out, nothing much to do there.
